My Contributions
For Monochrome Heights, I served in several supportive roles, providing writing, narrative design, and editing support. This included collaborating on the development of the narrative structure for the overall game, writing cinematic scenes, dialog, and barks, and assisting in documentation.
Narrative Structure
- Pitched three proposals for the plot of the game based on existing world building — which Patrick and I tailored down into a single concept that would suit the game experience.
- Based on the finalized pitch, I supported the development of the narrative structure, including placement of major plot points throughout the game.
- Assisted in creating and maintaining documentation for world building and narrative design.
Writing and Editing
- Crafted cinematic scenes and barks in character voice.
- Incorporated mild branching dialog allowing the player to more deeply engage with the story.
- Edited cinematic scenes and barks to ensure all of the dialog aligns with the overall tone and narrative.
Testimonial
Working with Andrea on Monochrome Heights has been fantastic. Whether it’s through editing and improving my writing, her own original drafting, generating new ideas and concepts, or making connections across the project, Andrea has helped tremendously improve and shape the game, its narrative, in-game text, and marketing materials. Her attention to detail, work ethic, and communication skills are all top notch. All that, plus she’s cool and easy to work with.
